Campus Housing Information for Students Arriving Fall 2008

Temporary housing
T he University offers two temporary housing options for new international students who arrive before they have found or can move into more permanent housing.

Temporary hotel accommodations
The Iowa House, a University-operated hotel in the Iowa Memorial Union, offers new international students a discounted rate of $30 (U.S. dollars) per person, per night, for a shared room.

To receive the discount, show the Iowa House hotel clerk your passport or a copy of the University's Important Information for New International Students brochure (which you should have received after admission).

Temporary residence hall accommodations
International students arriving for the fall semester may be able to obtain temporary housing in one of the UI residence halls beginning in early August. For more information about this option, which includes a bed in a large, open room shared with other new students, contact University Housing.
