To ensure you have a smooth transition to The University of Iowa, plan to arrive in Iowa City no later than the report date on your I-20 or the program beginning date on your DS-2019.
If you do
not arrange housing before you arrive in Iowa, we recommend that you arrive early enough to accommodate a search, which can take a few days or up to a week.
Temporary
housing for international students
The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) cannot help students find housing, but the University offers temporary housing options for new international students who arrive before they have found or can move into more permanent housing.
