Multicultural studies is defined as the study of various peoples or cultural groups, while leadership is a process by which a person influences others—through his or her beliefs, values, ethics, character, knowledge, or skills—to accomplish an objective.

The Multicultural Studies and Leadership Living-Learning Community is open to students of all majors who are interested in learning about different American cultural groups, learning what it takes to be an effective leader of diverse groups, and helping others by designing a community service project.

Members of this living-learning community pursue their individual studies but come together for a course on being an effective leader in a multicultural setting.

Benefits include:

  • Living in a supportive environment that includes interaction with and mentorship by a diverse cross section of faculty and staff
  • A course project that will enhance your skills at working with diverse groups, collaborating with community leaders, research, and problem solving
  • Attending cultural events and meeting with leaders
