nformd.net
nformd.net is an online sexual assault prevention program that teaches students about sexual misconduct (including sexual violence, sexual harassment, stalking, and dating violence). The test includes a 10-minute pre-test, a one-hour video, and a 10-minute post-test.

When do I take this online test?
Students may take the nformd.net test on ICON (Iowa Courses Online) between June 15-Aug. 1, 2009. First-year students need to complete the course by Aug. 1, 2009, to register for courses for Spring Semester 2010.

How to Log In to ICON to Take the Test

Why do I need to take a course about sexual misconduct?

  • So you will understand the types of behavior that constitute sexual misconduct.
  • The University of Iowa strives to create a respectful, safe, and non-threatening environment for students, faculty and staff.
  • According to the U.S. Department of Justice, college freshman and sophomores are at the highest risk of being sexually assaulted.

Who is required to take nformd.net?

  • All first-year incoming students at the University of Iowa.
  • First-year, incoming international students with F1 and J1 status will complete the program through the UI Office of International Students and Scholars once they arrive on campus. Please contact OISS with questions at 319-353-2700.

How long will it take me to complete the program?
The pre-test and post-test will take approximately 10 minutes each; the video section will take approximately one hour to watch.

How do I “pass” the online course?
Students must achieve a score of at least 80 percent on the post-test—or repeat the course until they score 80 percent—to be eligible to enroll for Spring 2010 courses.
