Still deciding?
Don't panic. The University offers more than 100 areas of study to explore, and in most cases, you can still graduate in four years if you decide on a major within your first or second semester of college.

If you have a general idea of what you want to study, but aren't sure of a specific major, check out these lists of majors organized by areas of interest (though not all Iowa majors are represented here):

Consider the open major
More than a fourth of first-year UI students haven’t yet decided on a major when they enroll. These students usually apply to the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, declaring themselves as an “open major.” Over time, your academic advisor will direct you to campus resources to help you decide, such as our Pomerantz Career Center.
