Welcome Week events
A Weeklong Series of Activities—including a block party and a Midnight March—will introduce you to Iowa and your new classmates.
Important paperwork
Complete this important paperwork before you arrive to reduce the hassles and inconveniences you'll face if you don't. Add it to your Summer To-Do List.
Important dates
When you can expect your first U-Bill. When you can move into the residence halls. When your parents can register for Family Weekend. When Classes Begin.
PICK ONE!
Explore the PICK ONE! Program to discover more than 500 ways to get involved during your first semester: join a club, academic group, or intramural sports team. Also consider working or volunteering.
As you pack
Don’t forget your Black & Gold Handbook for New Students, the If I Knew Then What I Know Now pamphlet, and your class schedule!
Buying your textbooks
The University Book Store has an online service to help you identify (and purchase) textbooks based on the courses for which you have registered. Some instructors do not distribute textbook information until classes begin, but occasionally this information is included with course information on ISIS.
Bringing a computer to campus?
Review the university's IT Services for Incoming Students and information about Using Computers in the Residence Halls (ResNet).
Check out new UI web app for your mobile phone and device
Skip right to your favorite features of the UI web site with the new mobile web app at m.uiowa.edu. You'll find quick links to event listings, athletic news, and UI phone listings, and when you get to campus, you can even use your phone to check the status of your laundry in the residence hall washers and dryers! Using your phone's internet browser, go to m.uiowa.edu (do not use the "www" in the address).
