What to Bring to a Two-Day Orientation Program
Be sure to bring the following items to Orientation:

  • Your Hawk ID and password for course registration
  • A valid, government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport, to obtain an Iowa One Card, your official UI student ID
  • Your AP, CLEP, IB, and UI Placement Test results so your academic advisor can help you select courses appropriate for your ability
  • The letter you received confirming your Orientation date
  • A No. 2 pencil and a notebook
  • An alarm clock and a cellular phone, if staying in a residence hall
  • An umbrella or rain gear and comfortable walking shoes
  • A sweater or sweatshirt (meeting rooms may be cool)
  • Workout clothes for Night Games, which includes volleyball, basketball, and/or use of the climbing wall
  • A canned good, if interested in making a donation to the Crisis Center of Johnson County
