Directions to a One-Day Orientation Program
We're looking forward to having you here for Orientation! Here is some information you'll need to get to the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) for a one-day Orientation program.

Traveling from Interstate 80 (north of Iowa City):
NOTE: Due to regional flooding, please visit our Flood Update web page for the latest details. Driving directions and parking information related to your program may be revised as conditions are changing rapidly.

• Take Exit 246 (Highway 1 South/North Dodge Street) south into Iowa City.
• Turn right (east) on Market Street.
• Turn left on Madison Street.
• The Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) Parking Ramp will be on your left.
• Refer to the materials sent with your program confirmation for more information.

Traveling from Highways 1, 6, or 218:

• Follow Highway 6 (also called Riverside Drive) to Iowa Avenue.
• Turn right on Iowa Avenue.
• Turn left on Madison Street to reach the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) Parking Ramp. Continue heading north on Madison Street past the IMU Ramp to reach the North Campus Parking Ramp.

Parking for Orientation
Students who attend one of the one-day Orientation programs held the week prior to the beginning of classes will pay a nominal fee for parking. Parking on campus is limited and strictly enforced. You will be responsible for any parking expenses you might incur during your stay. Refer to the materials sent with your program confirmation for more information.

If you are late
If you are unavoidably detained and do not arrive in Iowa City before 9:30 a.m., park in the IMU Ramp. Come directly to the Wisconsin Room (3rd floor, IMU) to get your program materials.
