Orientation for Students in F-1 or J-1 Status
International students in F-1 and J-1 status (and those who plan to be) are required to attend two orientation programs:

  • Orientation through OISS
    (Office of International Students and Scholars)
  • and

  • Orientation/Registration through the Office of AdmissionsYou will register for classes and learn more about campus resources during this one-day program organized by Orientation Services in the UI Office of Admissions.
    • Find this date on your Admissions Profile—The date of your orientation/registration program through Orientation Services in the Office of Admissions will appear in your Admissions Profile on ISIS after you have accepted admission and paid your acceptance fee. You will also be reminded of this program date when you report to OISS.
    • Take your placement testsComplete your online Placement Tests at least 14 days before your orientation through the Office of Admissions.
