Orientation for Students Not in F-1 or J-1 Status
International students not in F-1 or J-1 status are required only to attend an orientation program through the UI Office of Admissions, and are not required to attend the additional program offered through the UI Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS), which is only for students in F-1 or J-1 status.

Academic Orientation through the Office of Admissions
You will register for classes and learn more about campus resources during this one- or two-day program organized by Orientation Services in the UI Office of Admissions.

Making your reservation
The dates on which you may attend orientation will vary depending on whether you are a first-year or transfer student, the semester you plan to begin taking classes at Iowa, and whether you need to take the English Proficiency Evaluation.

Which type of student are you?
Your online reservation process will be the same as the process for domestic (non-international) first-year and transfer students.
