One-Day Parent & Guest Program
These Orientation sessions are held concurrently with student sessions and are designed for parents, guardians, siblings, and partners of incoming Iowa students.

Programs are coordinated by our Parent Program Assistants, current UI students trained to assist parents during Orientation.

Tentative parent & guest agenda
Various sessions during the program will describe academic opportunities and campus facilities, and address some of the academic and social concerns facing new students and their families.

University of Iowa Honors Program meeting (for eligible students and their families; optional)
8:30 a.m.
Orientation check-in begins
9-9:30 a.m.
Welcome and announcements
9:30-10:15 a.m.
Orientation to Academics discussion
10:15-10:30 a.m.
Refreshment break
10:30-11:15 a.m.
The Iowa Scene (student panel)
11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Lunch (on your own)
2:30 p.m.
Campus Walking Tour (departs from the Admission Visitors Center, C110 Pomerantz Center, when classes are in session)
11:30-3:30 p.m.
Residence Hall Tours (not always offered when classes are not in session)
