Parent Orientation for a Two-Day Program
Matching the expectations that parents and students have of universities, and vice versa, is known to be a major factor in student satisfaction during the college years. We encourage parents to attend Orientation to gain a better understanding of college life.
Programs are coordinated by our Parent Program Assistants, current UI students trained to assist parents during Orientation.
Tentative parent agenda
Parent and guest sessions, which are concurrent with student programs, typically focus on academic opportunities, University billing and financial issues, student health and safety information, and ways for parents to become part of the University community.
