Placement
Tests for First-Year Students
Placement tests help your advisor at Orientation make sure you enroll in courses appropriate for your skill level in various areas.
Placement tests are offered in:
- Math: All first-year
students are required to take a Mathematics
Placement Test (MPT).
- Chemistry: Take the Chemistry
Diagnostic Test (CDT) if you are considering
a major in any of the health or natural sciences.
- Foreign Language: Whether
or not you'll need to take a Foreign
Language Placement Test (FLPT) depends
on your high school foreign language background and your future plans
for language study at Iowa.
Complete all necessary placement tests at least 14 days before your
scheduled Orientation program. |
