Placement Tests for Transfer Students
Transfer students intending to major in the biological, physical, or mathematical sciences; computer science; business; pharmacy; or sociology should take a Mathematics Placement Test (MPT). It's an especially helpful advising tool for students who still need to complete the quantitative or formal reasoning requirements of the UI General Education Program.

You should take the Chemistry Diagnostic Test (CDT) if you are considering a major in any of the health or natural sciences.

Whether or not you'll need to take a Foreign Language Placement Test (FLPT) depends upon your previous study of a foreign language and your future plans for language study at Iowa.
