by plane
The Eastern Iowa Airport in
Cedar Rapids (CID) is about 20 minutes from our campus and has Airport Shuttle & Taxi Services offering ground transportation from the airport to Iowa City.
Other major airports
in Iowa include the Quad City International
Airport (MLI), which is about an hour from Iowa City, and the Des
Moines International Airport (DSM), which is about two hours from Iowa
City.
Traveling
by bus
Burlington
Trailways, Greyhound, and Megabus provide ground transportation to Iowa City. Call
the Iowa City depot at 319-337-2127 for more information. Ask about
student discounts.
Traveling
by car
Iowa
City is about two hours east of Des Moines and three to four hours
west of Chicago on Interstate 80.

to stay
There are dozens of Places
to Stay near campus during your visit, including the Iowa
House Hotel, a University-owned hotel located in the Iowa Memorial Union. Also, review the Special UI Visitor Rates at Local Hotels (though discount rates are not available on football or graduation weekends).
