Working with students
I feel like I am making a difference in the world by teaching, and I enjoy interacting with students in class and one-to-one.

Classroom environment
On the first day, I tell my students about myself and show them a few pictures of my family on my web site. I share stories with them, have lots of class discussion, and I encourage them to contact me at any time if I can be helpful.

I also have a 'game day,' in which I buy about 10 fun prizes and hold a trivia contest. Half of the questions are basic, general stuff, unrelated to the course, and the other half are related to the course. The first correct answer to each question wins a prize.
