A variety of campus organizations will help you become a prominent member of our campus community and gain valuable leadership experience.

What we offer
Iowa has more than 400 student groups and other opportunities for students to get involved in activities outside of class.

  • Organizations to join. There are more than 400 Student Organizations on campus, and a Citizenship, Leadership, & Service Living-Learning Community.
  • Avenues to explore. Imaginative, talented students don't just dance, act, play music, write, and paint on our campus. They can direct, edit, choreograph, and produce as well. Some join the Performing Arts Living-Learning Community.
  • Skills to develop. The Career Leadership Academy offers academic credit and opportunities to network with professionals, learn about multiculturalism and diversity, engage in team-building workshops, and lead service projects.
  • Skills to practice. Many of Iowa's ablest students become tutors, earning extra money while they test their teaching skills. Some also contribute to worthy causes through student group activities.

Our track record
The success of famous Iowa graduates speaks for itself, but even graduates who aren't working under a spotlight acknowledge that their Iowa experience taught them skills to succeed after graduation, including consensus-building and leadership.
