| A
variety of campus organizations will help you become a prominent member
of our campus community and gain valuable
leadership experience.
What
we offer
Iowa has about 500 student groups and other kind of opportunities
for students to get involved in activities outside of class, and first-year students are encouraged to do so through the Pick One! Program.
- Living-learning communities. Iowa offers more than a dozen Living-Learning Communities in the residence halls for students who share academic interests.
- Organizations
to join. There are about 500 Student Organizations on campus.
- Avenues
to explore. Imaginative,
talented students don't just dance, act, play music, write, and
paint on our campus. They can direct, edit, choreograph, and produce,
as well. Some join the Arts Living-Learning Community.
- Skills to develop. The Career Leadership Academy offers academic credit and opportunities to network with professionals, learn about multiculturalism and diversity, engage in team-building workshops, and lead service projects.
- Skills
to practice. Many of Iowa's most able students become tutors,
earning extra money while they test their teaching skills. Some
also contribute to worthy causes through student group activities.
Our
track record
The success of famous Iowa graduates speaks for itself, but even graduates
not in the spotlight acknowledge that their Iowa experience
taught them skills to succeed after graduation.
