- UI Hospitals and Clinics has been included among "America's Best Hospitals" for 17 straight years in U.S. News & World Report. Many undergraduates work or volunteer at the hospital.
- Six specialties at the hospital rank among the top 50 in the nation, including otolaryngology (2nd), ophthalmology (6th), and orthopaedics (7th), in U.S. News & World Report.
- University Libraries rank 19th for overall holdings among public research universities in the United States (2005).
