Living with the river remains a priority

The University’s campus master plan emphasizes a desire to live with the Iowa River, not in opposition to it. This plan was written before the flood of 2008, but its spirit remains true to this day. Rod Lehnertz, director of design and construction in Facilities Management, says the University will take measures to minimize risks while finding ways to continue celebrating the river’s unique presence on campus.
