Process (how-to)
Arts Share Events are easy to schedule!
Book a performance, workshop, master class or lecture. Long-term residencies are also available. Here’s what you do:

  • Complete the scheduling form from our web site or our brochure, call the Arts Share office at (319) 335-1618, or e-mail us at artsshare@uiowa.edu
  • An Arts Share representative will work with you to arrange your event. The representative will serve as a liaison between you and the artist until a date and a fee have been set.
  • After your event has been scheduled, it is important that you contact the artist prior to the event to discuss program structure, details, and goals.

Costs
Arts Share artists and ensemble require honorarium payments that range from $50 to $1000 per workshop or performance.  All fees take into consideration the scope, duration, and location of the event.  Transportation, supplies, meals, and accommodations also factor in to the total cost of an event.  Arts Share will make every effort to help you design an event that fits your needs as well as your budget.

Funding available
Corporate sponsors provide grant money to certain areas and for certain Arts Share programming.  This requires no extra steps for you -- simply check with our office to determine if your organization is eligible for grant money.  (Eligibility will change from year to year)

Still looking for ideas?  Please take a look at the client feedback below:

"Robert Wray Playwright (MFA, '03) came to our school ten times over a period of two months working on playwriting with our classes.  My students loved him and were completely motivated - even staying after school to work on their skits.  Robert catered to their interests.  I am planning on utilizing Arts Share again next year."

-- Mitzi Hetherton, Lincoln Elementary (Dubuque, Iowa)

"I am on our newly formed PTA for Performing Arts in Hiawatha.  Our goal is to have more assemblies for students and to familiarize them with various types of performances.  The members of the PanAmerican Steel Band Ensemble had so much energy and joy for music that it was contagious.  We want them back!"

-- Theresa Goetzman, Hiawatha Elementary (Hiawatha, Iowa)
