Graphics Guidelines

The graphics files available on this site combine the traditional University of Iowa logo with the Be remarkable tagline. The tagline must be used in conjunction with the University logo. It may not be used by itself as a graphic or in conjunction with collegiate, departmental, or program logos. These guidelines help ensure that audiences associate Be remarkable with the University as a whole.

The traditional University logo may still be used alone, and the graphic identity standards that govern its use have not changed. But using the logo plus the Be remarkable tagline is an easy way to support the campaign. If you have questions about the appropriate use of any University of Iowa logo, contact Scott Ketelsen, associate director of University Relations.

Here are some additional guidelines for using the Be remarkable graphics:

  • The font used in the Be remarkable tagline graphic is Myriad Pro. We recommend but do not require using Myriad Pro for text in new materials linked to the campaign. (Be sure to follow license requirements whenever installing and using fonts.)
  • When using the graphics files available here, follow the size guidelines established for the traditional University logo in the Identity Manual. Some of the Be remarkable graphics are scalable, but the graphic that uses the single-line UI wordmark should always be at least 1 1/4 inches wide in print. The graphic that uses the two-line wordmark should be at least one inch wide.
  • In web use, follow the University identity standards for web sites. The minimum size for web use is measured by the size of the initial capital "T" in the UI wordmark, which must be no smaller than 11 pixels in height.
  • The graphics files available here offer the dome logo, University wordmark, and Be remarkable tagline together as a unit. These files combine all three elements in their preferred relative size and positioning, offering a quick and easy way to incorporate the Be remarkable tagline into your project. Any other arrangements must be approved before use. Again, the tagline may not appear by itself as a graphic or be combined with any other logos.
  • The Be remarkable graphics may be printed as a positive or as a reverse (white). As with the traditional University logo, preferred colors are black, white, and gold.

Graphics Files
