Using the Campaign
The Office of University Relations coordinates the Be remarkable campaign, and our staff can help other University units determine how best to use campaign elements. This web site offers general guidelines for campaign graphics and messages, including our take on the word "remarkable." This information can help campus communicators consider how the campaign may benefit them and the units they represent.
Your program can adopt elements of the campaign in advertising, internal communications like newsletters, external or alumni relations, and other projects. The campaign offers a framework for communications and a way to link your program to the University as a whole.
Here are a few ideas for using the campaign:
- Use the Be remarkable tagline in conjunction with the University of Iowa logo. (See the Graphics Guidelines page for more information.)
- Use the campaign's key messages to identify topics for newsletters, web sites, annual reports, and other projects.
- Suggest topics for the UI home page "remarkables" or the "Remarkable people" feature on this web site.
- Incorporate the Be remarkable theme and graphics into print advertisements.
- Develop a list of remarkable achievements from your department to cite in print or on the web.
- Profile remarkable students, faculty, and staff for departmental or alumni newsletters.
- Use the Be remarkable theme in recruiting materials.
To keep the Be remarkable campaign cohesive, materials that use campaign elements—particularly the Be remarkable tagline or graphics—should go to University Relations for review prior to production and distribution. Our goal is to maintain clear and consistent messages and to help colleges, departments, and programs find effective ways to join the campaign.
Please submit materials or your ideas for using the campaign to Scott Ketelsen, associate director of University Relations.
