University stationery
University of Iowa letterhead, business cards, envelopes, and other UI-branded stationery items must be ordered through UI Printing Services. Standard designs for these products incorporate the university logo and wordmark and provide consistency across communications from university units, faculty, and staff.
Letterhead
Printing Services prints letterhead on recycled stock compatible with laser and ink-jet printers, photocopiers, and fax machines. All letter text must fall within the “live-area” margins established for the letterhead design.
University units can choose from several letterhead styles that offer different options for address blocks. Some styles will accommodate secondary logos—for example, a logo from a particular college or program. Guidelines for these logos follow:
- Secondary logos appear at the bottom-right of the letterhead, aligned with the bar in the address block above.
- Horizontal logos may be no larger than 2 ½ inches wide by 5/8 inches tall.
- Square logos may be no larger than ¾ inch by ¾ inch. Additional verbiage may appear beside a square logo.
- Horizontal logos may be no larger than ¾ inch wide by 1 inch tall. No additional verbiage may be included beside a vertical logo.

Electronic letterhead
Printing Services also provides electronic letterhead—Microsoft Word files containing UI graphic identity elements. Electronic letterhead files are suitable for office printers and computers using either PC or Mac platforms. Order electronic letterhead just like any other Printing Services product, supplying a job number for existing printed letterhead (when available) and an e-mail address.See Printing Services for price list.
Business cards
A variety of business card design options are available. Some colleges and units have selected a particular design for their departments and programs—check with your external relations director before ordering. See design options.
Business cards are designed to be printed on one side, but additional logos may be printed on the back at an additional charge. Fold-over cards are also available.

Notecards and envelopes
The University

in packages of 25. Notecards are scored to fold to 4.5" x 6.25".

Report covers

A ProClick acetate report cover with a reusable zip-on, zip-off binding is available from Printing Services. These report covers are designed for grant applications, reports, and conference materials. The front and back covers are prepunched and the front cover has an open area for the document title page to show through. Price list.

Two preprinted brochures may be just the products you need to announce an upcoming conference or lecture, or for a small number of information flyers regarding your program.
