- Colbert, Stephen - Monolog at the 2006 White House Correspondents Dinner
- This is a "re-improved" transcript of Stephen Colbert's controversial monolog at the Jay, 2006 White House Press Correspondents Dinner. This satirical performance was largely ignored by the established press, which Colbert criticized along with the president and his government and policies. It gained a large following on the Web where the C-SPAN video was widely reproduced. The Internet buzz forced some news organizations to report it some days later by claiming it wasn't covered because it wasn't funny. - Commission on Presidential Debates
- Includes historical material beginning with the 1858 Illinois Senate debate between Lincoln and Douglas. The organization, which is a nonprofit, nonpartisan corporation, sponsored all the presidential debates in 1988, 1992, and 1996.

- Future of Presidential Debates, The
- Written by Stephen Bates, based on a meeting convened by Clifford M. Sloan. The discussion focused on five questions. How can we assure that the Democratic and Republican presidential nominees will debate each other? Under what circumstances should independent candidates also participate? How should debates be structured? Beyond debates, how can the media help voters become better informed and more attentive?
