every spring - The Celebration of Excellence and Achievement Among Women is the University’s annual tribute to the accomplishments of all women at the UI.
September 2006 - Panel discussion "The Uniqueness of the University of Iowa."
April 2006 - CSW co-sponsored a talk by Diane Halpern (pdf), professor of psychology, who spoke on "Sex, Lies, and Audiotape: A Cognitive Analysis of the Clinton-Lewinski Scandal. Halpern, whose research includes critical thinking, sex differences in cognitive abilities, and work-life balance, teaches at Claremont McKenna College.
Spring 2006 - As part of the Year of Public Engagement, CSW members wrote about the ways and groups with which they were engaged:
- Troop leader for 5th-grade Girl Scouts and am excited by the GS motto: Where girls grow strong!
- Donate platelets to DeGowin Blood Center every month, because platelets are used to support transplant patients.

November 2005 - Public Engagement Committee organized a panel on youth issues. The event was rebroadcast on the CITY channel several times afterwards.
August 2005 - In conjunction with the university-wide volunteer fair on Wednesday, Aug. 31, the University of Iowa Council on the Status of Women Public Engagement Committee and Associated University Women hosted a welcome reception. Mary Palmberg, local volunteer and activist, spoke.
The reception was planned to celebrate and encourage participation in the Year of Public Engagement designated by UI President David Skorton. By holding it in conjunction with the volunteer fair, which took place that day, the groups hope to facilitate increased involvement in efforts to support women at the UI and in the community.
