Activities & Timelines

Phase I – March 1 2007 – May 1, 2007 (Design Exchange 2007 Infrastructure, Provisioning, and Processes)
Complete - This phase focused on the architecture and systems necessary to provision and support 35000 users on Exchange 2007.

Phase II – May 1, 2007 – June 6, 2007 (Implementation of Exchange 2007)
This phase purchases, installs and configures the hardware necessary to implement Exchange 2007. In addition changes are made to the provisioning processes to support the creation of Exchange accounts for incoming students and the cessation of Blue account creation.

Phase III – June 6, 2007 – October 31, 2007 (Student Implementation)
Phase III completes the student aspect of the move to Exchange 2007.

  1. Incoming students at the University will receive Exchange email accounts effective June 6, 2007. Creation of new accounts will continue through the summer.
  2. Existing student users on the Blue Cluster email system will begin to move to the Exchange 2007 service after the start of the Fall Term.
  3. Existing student users on Exchange 2003 will move to Exchange 2007 later in the Fall Term

Phase IV – December 2007 – January 2008 (Faculty/Staff Implementation)
Phase IV addresses the move to Exchange 2007 for Faculty and staff

Faculty and staff users will begin to move to the new system over the 2007-2008 winter break.
