How Your Estimated Cost of Attendance is Determined (Also referred to as a Student Budget) If you are residing in the residence halls, the amount listed for room and board is based on a weighted average of all room contracts with full board. Although your actual residence hall contract may be different, the Office of Student Financial Aid uses the same estimated cost for determining the cost of attendance for all students living on campus. Other expenses in the estimated cost of attendance figures include books and supplies, off-campus room and board, personal, and transportation costs. These other expenses are included in the cost of attendance but are not billed to you by the University. Personal expenses include, but are not limited to, items such as clothing, entertainment, and laundry. These are the most variable expenses since they reflect personal spending habits. The estimated costs of attendance listed below are for undergraduate and graduate students. Some colleges and certain majors will have higher amounts for tuition and fees. For detailed information about the different rates for tuition and fees, refer to the Office of the Registrar's Tuition and Fee Tables. The Tuition & Fees and Books & Supplies amounts are for full-time status (twelve or more hours each semester for undergraduate students and nine or more hours each semester for graduate students). The Room & Board, Personal, and Transportation costs are for the specified number of months. |
