A change in hours can greatly affect your financial aid eligibility. If you plan to drop below full-time or are a part-time student and plan to drop below half-time status (six hours per semester for undergraduates and five hours per semester for graduates; three hours during the summer session for undergraduates and graduates) or to add hours and become full-time, you should contact the Office of Student Financial Aid and ask to speak with a counselor.
Students who drop hours may have to repay all or a portion of their financial aid. The amount of the repayment will vary depending on when the credits are dropped.
Students who drop credit hours or withdraw their registration are still responsible for meeting the requirements outlined in the Reasonable Academic Progress (RAP) Standards.
