If you have any type of financial aid, the University of Iowa routinely sends reports to guarantors of student loans informing the guarantor of the student's current enrollment status and the anticipated graduation date. A graduation date that is earlier than your actual graduation date may put you in a situation where you are expected to start repaying student loans. The University calculates an anticipated graduation date on your record when you enroll at the University of Iowa. This is based on your status at the time you enroll. For example, a first-year student, entering fall 2007 would have an anticipated graduation date of May 2011. A transfer student entering UI for fall 2007 and classified as a junior would have an anticipated graduation date of May 2009. All graduate students are given an anticipated graduation date of two years after their first enrollment at UI. Since individual circumstances and plans vary, it is important for you to be certain your anticipated graduation date reflects your current plans. We urge you to change your graduation date if your plans have changed. The University and lending agencies simply want to know your best estimate of when you plan to graduate. All changes to student records are made only by authorized University personnel or at the request of the student. There are several ways to check and update your graduation date:
