Student Responsibilities

Maintaining and renewing eligibility for financial aid is a very important responsibility of the student. Students applying for and receiving financial aid are responsible for:

  • checking ISIS to ensure all required forms have been submitted to be awarded financial aid and, after they are awarded, that all forms have been submitted for receipt of financial aid funds.
  • checking their university assigned email account often. The University sends important information to students via email.
  • reading documents that are mailed to them.  Important documents are mailed to the student's residing address.
  • updating their residing and permanent addresses on ISIS when changes occur. Important information may be mailed to the student.
  • making photocopies of documents submitted to the Office of Student Financial Aid.
  • meeting reasonable academic progress (RAP) standards mandated by the federal government.
  • reapplying for financial aid each year by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submitting all required documents to the Office of Student Financial Aid.  Financial aid is not automatically renewed.
  • understanding what documents are required to apply for and receive financial aid each year.
  • responding to all requests for information by the Office of Student Financial Aid.
  • notifying the Office of Student Financial Aid of assistance received from outside sources.
  • notifying their lender(s) of any changes in their name, address or enrollment status, if they have received a loan.
  • using all financial aid funds for education-related expenses.
  • paying all previous session charges on their University account before financial aid will be disbursed.
