Free Financial Counseling for UI Students
A consumer credit counselor is available on campus to help students develop workable budgets and money management skills, pay off debts, and regain control of their finances.

The Office of Student Life is proud to offer free financial counseling for all UI students through the Student Credit and Money Management Services program.

Over the past several years, the program has concentrated its efforts on prevention by presenting information to parents during summer orientation on how to talk with students about avoiding credit problems, providing educational programs to students in residence halls, and publishing ads with financial tips in the Daily Iowan. The program has also made recommendations to the Vice President for Student Services on decreasing the frequency of on-campus solicitation of students by credit card companies, and on guidelines for such solicitations.
