First-Year Students
If a scholarship description indicates the award is to first-year students, this means undergraduates entering the University directly from high school.
Entering first-year students planning to major in accounting may apply for scholarships for their first year by writing to: The University of Iowa, Department of Accounting, 108 PBB, Suite W252, Iowa City, IA 52242-1000. The application deadline is January 30. Entering first-year students who are admitted to the Henry B. Tippie College of Business Tippie Scholars Program will automatically be considered for a Tippie Scholars Award. For additional information on the Tippie Scholars Program Scholarship, see the Office of Admissions' Scholarships for First-Year Students web site. Accounting Freshman Scholarship Awarded to entering freshmen planning to major in accounting. Undergraduate Students with Advanced Standing
Undergraduate students (sophomores through seniors) who are enrolled in the Henry B. Tippie College of Business or who expect to be admitted by the start of the fall semester may apply for scholarships by submitting a single application. Students holding renewable scholarships should also submit an application. Applications are available on the College of Business website in January and are due by February 28. Accenture Scholarship Merit-based award for a deserving senior U.S. citizen involved in leadership roles on campus and interested in consulting as a career.Value: $2,000 (two awards) AEGON TransAmerica Foundation Scholarship Awarded to business students who show leadership and involvement in clubs and organizations. Preference given to students with financial need.Value: $2,500 (one award) Robert L. Bankson Accounting Scholarship Awarded to first-year or sophomore business students who intend to major in accounting. Must be enthusiastic, energetic and ethical students.Value: $6,000 (twelve awards) Richard C. Sheehan Memorial Scholarship To an undergraduate student in business. Financial need is considered. Renewable.Value: $5,000 total (four awards) C. Vance Shepherd Finance Scholarship Awarded to students enrolled in business with a major in finance.
