Division of Continuing Education Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships covering tuition for one academic credit course in the Division of Continuing Education (Saturday & Evening Classes, Guided Independent Study or Distance Education) are available. Priority is given to students in degree programs supported by course work offered through the Division of Continuing Education, to Iowa residents, to students who have not received extensive financial assistance from the Division in the past, and to those students making satisfactory progress toward their degrees. In addition to degree objective, financial need and academic achievement are taken into account in awarding scholarships. Applications for the scholarships are available on the Center for Credit Programs web site.
Bachelor of Applied Studies and Bachelor of Liberal Studies Scholarships
Each year, 15 scholarships of $1000 are awarded through the Center for Credit Programs to qualified applicants in the BAS and BLS program. BAS students are eligible to apply if they have graduated with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Science (AS) degree from any Iowa community college and have been formally admitted to the University of Iowa BAS program. BLS students may apply if they have graduated with an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from any Iowa community college and have been formally admitted to the University of Iowa BLS program.
Funds are made available during the fall semester and after recipients' admissions to the programs are confirmed. Scholarships may be used for tuition only, not for books or supplies. While students may apply for admission to the BAS or BLS programs any time during the year, scholarships are awarded prior to the fall semester. The scholarship application deadline is July 1. Applications for the scholarships are available on the Center for Credit Programs web site.
