An emergency relief fund has been established to assist faculty, staff and students displaced from their homes by the flood of 2008. Staff and faculty interested in applying for financial assistance from the UI Flood Relief Fund are encouraged to visit the UI Flood Assistance Request Page: http://www.uiowa.edu/floodrecovery/uihelp.html.
A Hawk ID and password are required to enter the site. Faculty and staff requesting financial support from the flood fund will be asked to schedule a confidential appointment to meet with an eligibility coordinator. Appointments will be available beginning Monday, July 7 and can be scheduled online or by calling 3UI-FUND (384-3863).
Note to students: Students displaced by the flooding are encouraged to contact the UI Office of Financial Aid to discuss their needs and options with a financial aid counselor. For more information, see the news release.
People affected by the floods are encouraged to post their needs on the UI Flood Exchange, an online community similar to the popular craigslist, for UI faculty, staff and students. Need someone to help knock down drywall? Need childcare so that you can work on cleanup? Need a kitchen table and chairs? Post your needs here.
