The University of Iowa Office of Student Financial Aid is responding to the emergency and short-term needs of students negatively impacted by the flood of 2008 with a combination of existing UI short-term loan funds and grants supported through the UI Flood Relief Fund.
The amount of support to individual students for both loans and grants will vary by individual circumstances. Students requesting special consideration for support will need to meet with a UI financial aid counselor. Counselors are available on a walk-in basis at 208 Calvin Hall between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 319/335-1450 or write financial-aid@uiowa.edu.
For more information, see the news release.
Students, faculty and staff affected by the floods are encouraged to post their needs on the UI Flood Exchange, an online community similar to the popular craigslist. Need someone to help move boxes? Need childcare so that you can work on cleanup? Need a kitchen table and chairs? Post your needs here.
