OVERVIEW
The University
of Iowa’s graphic identity system has
been in place since October 2002. It is required on all communications
for external audiences.
In
order to provide a consistent visual identity for the entire
University, the Office of University Relations offers the
following information and web sites to help make the use
of the system
as easy as possible.
- An
Identity Manual explains
the guidelines for using the new logo and wordmark in print
communications,
on the web,
and
on specialty products, such as pens, mugs, and T-shirts
(see the Exceptions box on page 3 of the manual).
- Both
Mac and PC-compatible graphics are
available for downloading from this site. Downloading of
the graphics is limited
to campus computers only. To request permission to
use the UI logo on a commercial product, contact the Iowa
Licensing
Program at 319/384-2000. For other projects, contact
Scott Ketelsen, 319/384-0018, scott-ketelsen@uiowa.edu.
- One-on-one
consultation services are also available. For more information,
contact Scott Ketelsen, scott-ketelsen@uiowa.edu.

LETTERHEAD
TEMPLATES
The
letterhead has a standard 1-inch left margin and
2-inch top margin. It is important for all letter text to
fall within the margins
established
for the letterhead design. In this "live area," users
can choose any typeface, style, or size and any
letter format. Click
here to download a copy for
quick reference.
To download a Microsoft Word template formatted for use with
the
new
letterhead, click
here. (If you're on a PC, "right click" to bring up a menu. Then
choose "download link to disk" or "save target as." This
will download the file to your computer. Look for it then in your download file.
The file is named "Letterhead_template.doc".)
