Number of educational and professional outreach and service programs for Iowans; number of outreach programs for K-12 students in Iowa

Target 23a: Increase the number of Iowans served by educational and professional outreach and service programs on campus and in communities statewide.

A comprehensive measure is under development, and in 2000-01, an outreach database was developed (http://itsnt12.its.uiowa.edu/iaoutreach*). It contains more than 375 listings of UI outreach programs in the state. A committee has been formed to implement interim president Willard L. Boyd’s directives on advocacy and outreach. That committee is working to develop a measurable indicator of progress for the University’s outreach efforts.

Target 23b: Increase the number of K-12 students served by outreach programs.
