Tours of the displays in the Department of Geoscience are provided to the public as well as formal presentations (talks or demonstrations) with fossil, rock, and mineral specimens. The department is also available to help in identification of rocks, minerals, and fossils. Short-term loans of fossil, rock, and mineral display sets are provided to schools (K-12), teachers, and social organizations either on campus or in classrooms and public meetings in Iowa, by appointment, at no cost.
