Heartland Center for Occupational Health and Safety The Heartland Center for Occupational Health and Safety provides graduate training, continuing education, and outreach in occupational health and safety. Funded by the National Institute for Health and Safety, the Center serves Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. The Center offers graduate training programs in agricultural safety and health, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, occupational health nursing, occupational injury prevention research, and occupational medicine. Important areas of emphasis are interdisciplinary training, research, education, and outreach to the region and underrepresented regional groups, including Native Americans.
