Iowa Program for Assistive Technology

The Iowa Program for Assistive Technology (IPAT), a program of the Center for Disabilities and Development, is Iowa's grant project under the Assistive Technology Act of 1998. The program's goal is to create statewide systems change regarding assistive technology. IPAT works with consumers and family members, service providers, and state and local agencies to promote assistive technology through awareness, training, and policy work. IPAT accomplishes this through five goal areas: education, employment, health, community living and recreation, and telecommunication and information technology.
