Iowa Flood Center
The Iowa Flood Center was established to improve flood forecasting and mitigation understanding—all with the goal of trying to prevent future flooding or lessen its effects along Iowa's major waterways.
Center researchers collaborate with state and federal agencies, such as the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Geological Survey, and the National Weather Service.
The Center has established several community-based programs to improve flood monitoring and prediction in Iowa. For more information, contact Carmen Langel.
