The John and Mary Pappajohn Education Center (JMPEC) in Des Moines, a part of the University's Division of Continuing Education, is designed to provide a wide range of adult learning needs, as well as give students in central Iowa access to a number of University of Iowa undergraduate and graduate degree programs and courses.
The 34,000 square-foot center can accommodate groups of 24 through 80 participants. All rooms are fully equipped to handle most instructional technology needs. Video conferencing is available and virtual classroom software such as Adobe Connect and Elluminate can be utilized to bring our classrooms to students' desktops anywhere.
In collaboration with collegiate partners within the University, the Division of Continuing Education can extend the reach of distance opportunities to Des Moines. The University is interested in collaborating with central Iowa educational institutions, corporations, the Senior College and other lifelong learning programs to meet the educational needs of Iowans.
Noncredit learning opportunities are also available for professional and workforce development to individuals and corporations.
