Assist University HR leaders in communicating items of interest to the Labor Team in the monthly LMC meetings. The Management Team also reviews items brought forward by the Labor Team to provide an appropriate response on behalf of the employer, including follow-up when applicable.

Behavioral Health Work Group

Furlough Notice/Internship Program
Assess how an internship program within job vacancies at the University of Iowa might assist P&S non-bargaining staff in finding ongoing employment when they have been given furlough notice.

Graduate Assistant Appointment Work Group
Review procedures, systems and practices related to GA appointments, especially transactions as the information passes through the departments, graduate college, University Billing, Financial Aid Office and University HR, to promote the efficient application of tuition and the tuition scholarship to a GA’s account in a timely manner.

Workplace Occupational Safety and Health Work Group
Foster a safe environment for faculty, staff, student employees, and volunteers in the work setting through review, assessment, continuous quality improvement and enhanced communication and promotion of occupational health and safety across campus. Assess the effectiveness of occupational safety and health programs by utilizing data gathering tools and may conduct reviews as it develops and implements quality improvement initiatives to systematically improve and enhance safety and health University-wide.
