Compensation and Classification Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is a working group responsible for providing strategic direction to the project. The Steering Committee is primarily comprised of Human Resource leaders from across the University, and two members appointed by Staff Council.

FMLA and Medical Leave Restructure Group

The FMLA and Medical Leave Restructure Groups are responsible for developing implementation strategies of the FMLA Lean event, including alignment of leave practices across divisions, where applicable, and make recommendations of leave practices that are more effective and efficient in their implementation.

Furlough Notice/Internship Program

The Furlough Notice/Internship Program work group is working to assess how an internship program within job vacancies at the University of Iowa might assist P&S non-bargaining staff in finding ongoing employment when they have been given furlough notice.

Physical Activity/Nutrition Work Group

The Physical Activity/Nutrition Work Group is charged with developing strategies and supporting policies that will contribute to a healthy campus culture, especially as they support individual health improvement in the areas of physical activity patterns and nutrition habits.

The Behavioral Health Work Group

The Behavioral Health Work Group is charged with developing strategies and supporting policies that will contribute to a healthy campus culture, especially as they support individual health improvement in the areas of mental and emotional wellness.

Working at IOWA (WAI) Communications Group

The Working at IOWA (WAI) Communications Committee is responsible for building awareness of and keeping the campus community informed of the WAI goals, action plans and outcomes.  A critical component of the communication effort is building enthusiasm for WAI.

Working at IOWA (WAI) Data Management Group

The Committee works closely with the overall WAI Committee, the WAI Data Management Committee and the Senior Human Resource Representatives to explain the purpose of WAI, build trust for the process and demonstrate the relevancy of WAI in improving the work climate.
