Early retirees with a spouse where one or both are over 65, will continue to receive the UI contribution for retiree and spouse of $885 toward the cost of the policy. They will be moved into separate plans at this time and the University contribution will be divided between them so the retiree’s premium will equal $0 and the remainder of the contribution will be applied to the appropriate coverage for the spouse.
Example for UI Choice program:
Retiree 65 or older=$509-$509 University contribution=$0 premium
Spouse under 65=$476-$376 University contribution ($885-509=$376)=$100 premium
