Vision Insurance Open Enrollment

Vision Insurance

This page contains important information regarding your vision insurance. Please read all information carefully so you understand any changes that may affect your choices.

Vision Insurance open enrollment is now through February 28, 2010.

Open enrollment for the vision insurance program is underway.  This is the only time of the year current employees may add or drop vision insurance coverage, and if you wish to do so, you MUST do so by February 28, 2010.

If you have coverage and you cancel it, your coverage will be effective through March 31st.  If you add vision insurance coverage, it will take effect April 1, 2010.

The university offers two different vision insurance plans through the State of Iowa, and anyone who has Delta Dental insurance has a vision discount plan provided at no additional charge.  The vision discount plan offered by Delta Dental will not work in conjunction with an insurance plan – you must use one or the other.

As you make your open enrollment decision, the University Benefits Office encourages you to examine the cost, coverage, and carriers of each insurance plan as you compare the differences between the two insurance plans and the free discount plan.
