Furlough Options & Resources for Career, Term, At-Will
and Probationary Staff

  • Furlough Notice:  Time period during which furloughed staff member continues to be employed by the University
  • Furlough: Twelve(12) month time period following termination during which furloughed staff member is no longer employed by the University
  • YOS:  Years of Service

Has furlough consideration during the furlough notice and furlough (12 months following termination). Term Staff with two or more YOS have limited considerations.

Must interview letter will be sent for positions applied for at the same or lower pay level during the furlough notice and furlough (12 months following termination)

Courtesy letter may be sent for position applied for in a higher pay level during the notice, furlough notice, and/or furlough (12 months following termination)

May utilize the Furlough Networking Program during the notice, furlough notice, and/or furlough (12 months following termination)

May utilize Furlough Resume Database during the notice (At-Will*), furlough notice and/or furlough (12 months following termination) 

*Note:  Department may not utilize the Furlough Networking Program to rehire At-Will employees, but may utilize the information provided to contact At-Will employees directly and encourage them to apply for an advertised position

May Utilize the Employment Career Development Advising Service during notice, furlough notice and/or furlough (12 months following termination)
