Unpaid Leave Clarification - Please use this clarification in your work with employees and use of non FMLA Unpaid Leave. In addition to using the clarification document as you evaluate situations and the University’s responsibilities, you are welcome to share the Best Practices Unpaid Leave to HR Reps, September 2011 Power Point with supervisors and employees, as applicable. Veterans

The University of Iowa welcomes veteran applicants to UI employment and works diligently to assure employees who are also veterans have opportunity for success. Some veterans have disabilities and whether these conditions may be attributable to military service or other reasons, many services are available to support veterans who are applicants, staff or faculty. Faculty and Staff Disability Services is available to answer questions, assist in helping with employment needs related to disability and make referrals to needed services.
