FSDS provides leadership and expertise in complex employment matters involving employees with health conditions in working towards the development and implementation of a University infrastructure capacity for people with disabilities to feel welcomed and supported; providing an employment environment of which other academic institutions aspire and that includes but is not limited to:
- A disability and leave system design that builds and sustains employee/employer relationships,
- A strong coalition of existing and new resources that is visible and available to interested applicants, employees and employers,
- A centralized service structure and coordination system for applicants, employees and employers, and
- A knowledge sharing system concerning disability within employment that reaches all employees.
