You will need proof of your employment or income!

Beginning October 29, 2010, when you login to access TheWorkNumber™ service provided by TALX (for employment and income verifications), you will have a one-time initial enrollment after you enter your user ID and password.  This additional safety measure is being added as a step to continually improve the security of your information.  You’ll likely be familiar with the format as it is one currently used by many leading financial institutions to better ensure users are who they say they are.  If you would like more information or would like to view a preview of the process, please visit www.talx.com/enhancedlogin.

Need proof of employment?

Give the person needing proof of your employment, the verifier, the following information:

  • Your Social Security Number: XXX-XX-XXXX
  • The University of Iowa Employer Code:  13072
  • THE WORK NUMBER® Access Options for Verifiers:
    Option a) www.theworknumber.com
    Option b) 1-800-367-5690

Need Proof of Employment Plus Income?

Start by creating a Salary Key. A Salary Key is a six-digit number that allows one-time access to your salary information. Here’s how to create a Salary Key:

Step 1)  Access THE WORK NUMBER either via the Web or telephone:

Step 2) Select the Employee option and Login.  To Login, have the following information:
    • The University of Iowa Employer Code:  13072
    • Your University ID Number: XXXXXXXX
    • Your PIN (last 4 digits of SSN and the 4 digits of your birth year)

Step 3) Select the “Create a Salary Key” option and prepare to write down the six-digit number

Step 4) Give the person needing proof of your employment plus income, the verifier, the following information:

    • Your Social Security Number: XXX_XX_XXXX
    • The University of Iowa  Employer Code:  13072
    • Your Salary Key (from Step 3): XXXXXX
    • THE WORK NUMBER® Access Options for Verifiers:
