Longevity Award Programs

Milestone Award

Focus:  Years of continuous service at The University of Iowa; recognition gifts given at each 5-year milestone.

Eligible Recipient: All UI Health Care Faculty and Staff (Permanent appointment, 50% time or greater)

Population/Frequency:  UI Health Care/Monthly Award

Initiated by: UI Health Care Human Resources

Procedure:  Department receives and presents award to employee

Retirement Events/Farewell Functions

Focus:  All UI Health Care permanent and budgeted 50% or greater, with ten or more years of continuous service are eligible to be recognized with an appropriate farewell function at the discretion of their department. Gift provided by UI Health Care Human Resources.

Eligible Recipient: All UI Health Care Faculty and Staff (Permanent and budgeted, 50% time or greater)

Population/Frequency:  UI Health Care/Ongoing Award

Initiated by: Human Resources Representative

Procedure:  Submit Retirement Event/Farewell Function Request and food requisition to UI Health Care HR. Gift provided by UI Health Care HR.

Staff Council Longevity Awards

Focus:  Recognition of staff who have reached 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 or 50 years of continuous service.

Eligible Recipient: Campus Wide/Monthly Award

Population/Frequency:  P&S, Merit (Permanent appointment, 50% time or greater)

Initiated by: Staff Council

Procedure:  Staff Council requests that HR Reps verify recipient information, awards are mailed to HR Rep to distribute.
